(Representational Photo)Train services were affected in Tripura for nearly 12 hours after a goods train stalled at Panisagar in North Tripura district in the early hours of Monday, officials said.
Technicians were despatched soon after the malfunction was reported around 1.30 am from near the Dolubari area. All trains resumed services in the afternoon, a public relations officer of the Northeast Frontier Railway told indianexpress.com.
The problem was resolved at 2.30 pm. The official also said the technical malfunction was being investigated. “The Humsafar Express and the Janshatabdi Express were among the trains that were affected by the incident, apart from some local trains. The reason why the goods train was stalled is being investigated. But all trains are now moving smoothly,” he said.
Tripura has several express trains passing through it, including the Tripurasundari Express connecting Agartala to Anand Vihar in Delhi, the Kanchanjunga Express to Kolkata, the Humsafar Express to Bengaluru, the Lokmanya Tilak Express to Mumbai, the Deoghar Express to Deoghar in Jharkhand, the Agartala-Kolkata Special Express and the Agartala-Silchar Express, the Secunderabad Express and the Rani Kamalavati Express.
