He said a search conducted in the vehicle after a highway patrol noticed suspicious markings on the vehicle’s body revealed 54 packets of dry marijuana concealed in a secret chamber.
The recovered contraband weighed 887 kg and is estimated to have a market value of around Rs 2 crore.
The SP said the police have registered a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are working to uncover the source of the narcotics and its possible destination.
