The proscribed Coordination Committee (CorCom) — an umbrella organisation of major militant outfits in Manipur — called for an 18-hour total shutdown till 6 pm on January 26.

The outfit in a statement appealed to the public to cease work, stay indoors and boycott the Republic Day celebrations.

Religious ceremonies, medical, and other public emergencies have been exempted from the purview of the total shutdown.
