Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday took part in a jungle safari at the iconic Jim Corbett National Park in Ramnagar, Nainital, describing the visit as both a personal reconnect with nature and a reaffirmation of his government’s commitment to conserving biodiversity.
Dhami said that wildlife tourism in the state has gained strong momentum thanks to the government’s sustained efforts. In a press release, the chief minister noted that a large number of tourists from across the country and abroad are visiting the state, which has significantly boosted the tourism. New avenues of self-employment and livelihood have also opened up for local residents due to this, he added.

In a tweet, Dhami shared pictures from his visit to the park and wrote: ” Igottowitnessawonderfulandthrillingglimpseofwildlife.Thisexperienceamidstbiodiversitybecameanopportunitytoconnectwithnature’spricelessheritage.”

In a green initiative held alongside the safari, over 1,000 saplings were planted as part of the state’s ‘One Tree for Mother’ campaign. Supported by the Forest Department, local communities, and environmental volunteers, the event was billed as a tribute to both motherhood and nature.
The Chief Minister also met with forest officials and lauded their on-ground efforts in protecting Uttarakhand’s forests and wildlife.
