Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hosted a celebration of the state’s traditional agricultural festival, ‘Hareli Tihar’, at his residence on Monday, extending heartfelt greetings to the state’s residents.

Addressing the gathering, Sai said his government was committed to enhancing the prosperity and well-being of farmers, especially since agriculture is the backbone of Chhattisgarh’s economy.

The CM’s residence was decorated in the manner of a picturesque village setting for the occasion, with Sai and his wife, Kaushalya Devi Sai, performing the ‘Gauri-Ganesh’ pooja and the ‘Rudrabhishek’ of Lord Shiva.

CM Sai also visited an exhibition organised by the Agriculture Department, where he distributed keys for tractors, harvesters, and other farming equipment to 23 farmers. The event was graced by notable political figures like Assembly Speaker and former CM Dr Raman Singh, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Deo.

The celebration also put the spotlight on Chhattisgarh’s folk culture with performances of Raut Nacha, Gedi dance, and traditional Gadwa Baja.

The guests were also delighted by traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes like Thethari, Khurmi, Pidiya, Anarsa, and Curry Laddu.
