US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday said that Washington would push Islamabad to secure the conviction of Hafiz Saeed, alleged to be behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, adding that Islamabad has not done as much as the US and India wanted it to do to fight terrorism.
She also said they were putting pressure on Pakistan to curb terrorist activities in that country. We declared a bounty for Hafiz Saeed… they are killing Pakistanis in Pakistan. It is in the interest of the people of that country that Pakistan should take steps against terrorism, she said.
Clinton also said the US would go after militant groups in Pakistan and believed that al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was in that country.
