RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat justified Sunday the Sangh discourse on political matters and said revival of the swadeshi spirit of austerity and need-based international commerce were necessary to tackle the economic crisis. Discussing politics is necessary when it affects the social health of the country, he told volunteers at the RSS foundation day Dussehra function.
Four years ago,India was seen as an emerging economic power. Now,the situation has come to such a pass one wonders if the rupee will ever rise. Corruption has tak-en a toll. We must adopt policies that will strengthen manufacturing, he said.
Opposing FDI in retail,Bhagwat accused the government of letting loose foreign companies on Indian retailers the way heavily armed forces are unleashed on unarmed people. Bhagwat said India should face the Chinese challenge in a strong way. When China wants to check your ability to face its intrusion, you must give a fitting reply. People must boycott Chinese goods, he said.
Bhagwat criticised the Indo-Pak talks in the US. We were talking to them when a massive infiltration bid was being fought off by the Indian Army in Kashmir.
