After a recent incident in Bhilwara,Rajasthan,where a rape accused was beaten to death by the five-year-old victims family members,a similar incident was reported in Hanumangarh where villagers lynched a man for allegedly trying to sexually assault a seven-year-old girl on Tuesday.
A 53-year-old man from Gudiya village in Sangaria,Hanumangarh,Trilok Singh Bawri,allegedly took the seven-year-old girl from the village to his house and molested her while in an inebriated state. When he allegedly tried to rape her,the girls cries were heard by other villagers,who reached the spot in time and rescued her. An infuriated mob thrashed Trilok Singh and handed him over to the local police.
Seeing the condition of his health deteriorate,the police admitted Trilok Singh to the nearest government hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 10.30 pm Tuesday.
Hours later,at around 2.30 am,Singhs sister,Heera Devi Bawri,filed an FIR against the villagers,naming around 10-12 of them and against several unidentified persons from the village for killing the accused. According to police sources,Singh is a repeat offender and has already spent 27 years in jail after being convicted in a sexual assault and murder case.
For the past six months Singh was living alone in a single room accommodation in the village and had little interaction with villagers. He is survived by two daughters,both married,and wife,who lives with her younger daughter.
Earlier,a rape accused in Bhilwara was beaten to death by the family members of the five-year-old victim. The victim was out to milk a cow when two men from the village,Shankar Jat and Jagdish Jat,offered her a lift on their two-wheeler. Since Jagdish was her brother-in-law,the girl accepted the lift but she was taken to a deserted spot and allegedly raped by Shankar. On hearing about the incident,the girls brother and father beat up the accused killing him on the spot.
4 minors raped in Bihar,Ukhand
Dehradun,patna: Four minors were raped in separate incidents in Uttarakhand and Bihar,the police said on Wednesday. The incidents were reported from Haridwar and Nainital districts in Uttarakhand and Sheikhpura and Araria districts in Bihar.
In the first incident,a 10-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a youth in her village near Roorkee in Haridwar district when she had gone to a field to relieve herself. The victims family members filed a complaint with the police who have taken the accused,30-year-old Ravindra alias Chu-gga,into custody. In another incident near Beriparav gate in Nainital district on Wednesday,an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle,police sources said. Meanwhile in Bihar,a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two persons at Pharpur in Sheikhpura district,the police said on Wednesday. Another girl of same age was gangraped by eight persons at Sisauna in Bihars Araria district on Saturday last. Superintendent of Police Akhtar Hussain said the police is waiting for the medical examination report of the girl. PTI
