Leading two and three wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has registered a total sales growth of 48 per cent in October.
The company registered total sales of 1,95,271 units in October against 1,31,941 units in the same period last year.
Total sales for the April-October period stood at 1,18,4065 units,a company release said here today.
During the month,total two wheeler sales grew by 46 per cent with sales of 1,91,822 units against 1,31,029 units registered in October 2009.
Cumulative two-wheeler sales for the period April to October 2010 increased 34 per cent with sales of 1,16,2,861 units over 8,68,509 units in the corresponding period last year.
Domestic sales grew significantly by 45 per cent with sales growing from 1,18,563 units in October 2009 to 1,73,771 units in October 2010.
Scooter sales led the growth quotient with a substantial increase of 58 per cent from 28,301 units in October 2009 to 4,4,659 units in the current month.
Motorcycles sales,too,grew by an impressive 49 per cent with sales increasing from 56,465 units in October last year to 84,233 units in October 2010.
Exports registered growth of 45 per cent with sales increasing from 1,2,466 units in October 2009 to 1,8,051 units in October 2010.
The company sold 3,449 three wheelers in October 2010 as against 912 in the comparable period of the previous year.
Cumulative three-wheeler sales for April-October 2010 period was 21,204 units,232 per cent growth over the same period last year.
