TMC MP Kunal Ghosh quizzed

Ghosh says ‘had no authority to sign cheques’.

Kunal Ghosh,Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member and former CEO of Channel 10 and Saradha Printing and Publishing Pvt Ltd,was summoned to the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate on Monday evening and interrogated for about one-and-a-half hours regarding the chit fund scam.

Twenty two others,whose names featured in the letter written by company’s owner Sudipta Sen to the CBI,have been asked to appear before investigating officers.

While entering the Bidhnagar Police Commissionerate office,Ghosh said,“I have come within half an hour of receiving call from the police. I too wanted to meet them to clear doubts.” Ghosh alleged that he had been framed by Sen.

After the interrogation,Ghosh said that he has answered questions asked by the police on his relation with the company. He said that he only headed the media wing and “had no authority to sign cheques”.

A group of Congress supporters surrounded Ghosh’s car as he was leaving the Commissionerate. They sought his arrest and demanded that money be returned to depositors.

Meanwhile,several complaints are being lodged by employees of Channel 10 against Ghosh. Police officials said that they are investigating the charges.
