Three insurgents held for Assam train blast

Interrogation of six other APA cadres who were detained on Wednesday was continuing,Deka said.

Three alleged members of an ethnic insurgent outfit,which has claimed responsibility for the July 10 derailment of the Guwahati-Puri Jagannath Express,were arrested from Assam’s Baksa district on Saturday.

The self-styled deputy chief commandant of the Adivasi Peoples Army (APA) Silva Orang was arrested from the Menoka tea estate in Baganpara area by the police and 7 Dogra Regiment personnel,Additional SP Sapnanil Deka said. “Orang was interrogated by the police and based on the information that he provided,two other insurgents of this outfit were arrested from the same area,” Deka added. Interrogation of six other APA cadres who were detained on Wednesday was continuing,Deka said.
