Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the Union Budget 2012-13 in Parliament on Friday. Was it too safe?
The UPA government is already reeling from a dismal showing in recent state Assembly elections and more than a year of corruption scandals that have resulted in policy gridlock.
With the Lok Sabha elections set for 2014,the budget a year from now is expected to be laden with populist spending measures. Friday’s Budget was thus the last opportunity to push through reforms.
But did that happen? Tell us.
Ashok Bhatia: gud oneeeeeeeeee
Nitesh Sati: thats a gud move by our finance..minister…after watching out the condition of china defence budget
Lb Singh: Garib to mar jayega
मनीष वर्मा: Safe in the winds?
Virendra Sharma: expect a tough budget this financial year..
Virendra Sharma: expect austerity measures being imposed on common man… Politicians anyways hav got immunity frm everything…
Amar Nath: Looking at the Chaos with Rail budget …. i think its very difficult for the finance minin ster to presnt a game changing budget …. i think it will be a same as previous year budget ,focussing more on giving gifts to poor people without any proper regulation to the way the in which it is being delivered to the real needy citizens……… i would expect fainace minister to take care of the eduacated youths also by investing more in sectors producing JOBS….. Lets hope for the best….!!!
Krishna Bajaj: hope it will be beneficial to common man.
मनीष वर्मा: Pranab is a bad economist! His emphasis is blurred & the FPI will continue to rise! His only motive is to benifit the corporate interests! The FM plays safe & therefore,i expect hara~kiri not the realistic planning! India needs an agriculture based budget! Stop exodus of farmes as labourers to metros ever since the Independence?
Shastri Madhu Ganesh: GAME CHANGE is not a good sign of language for Congress… Rahul Gandhi said this in Parliament and ended with UP results & now again GAME CHANGER Budget? What is the surprise now in MIX bag of Karuna,Mamata,Mulayam & Sharad Pawar to offer Indians under Congress Banner is still a BIG question. Only BIG plus is we have a highly qualified Economist PM whose ideas might be included in this Budget I guess.
Vayu Mankotia: Congress is already in trouble for a long time now. The budget might be a saver for them. Mr. Pranab needs to present a good budget keeping all the aspects in mind, they don’t have any other choice
Virendra Sharma: we hav already seen a trailer where EPF intrest rate was reduced by 1.25 %…. Now imagine wat the movie has to offer…
Virendra Sharma: the congress is taking revenge of loss in state elections…
Mohandas Muthalpuredeth: See the Agril. economy’s downfall..India become a consumer country soon..Who will responsible?
Jai Singh: Not game changing Upper class will enjoy more liberties.. nothing for lower income group
