Amidst unruly scenes over Telangana Bill,Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N Manohar adjourned the House till Monday. As soon as the session started on Friday morning, members of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) were on their feet demanding that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 draft be presented in the House for discussion. The TRS members were supported by Telangana MLAs of Congress and TDP. This prompted a counterattack by Seemandhra MLAs. Members of both sides walked to the Speaker’s podium. While Telangana MLAs raised slogans of ‘Jai Telangana’,Seemandhra MLAs raised ‘Samaikhyandhra’ slogans and pandemonium prevailed in the House. Speaker Manohar was forced to adjourn the House for half-an-hour.

When the House reconvened,Telangana MLAs chanted “We want Telangana Bill’’ and a verbal match started. TDP MLAs from Seemandhra demanded that there should be a discussion first on the manner in which the Centre was pushing the Telangana Bill. The YSR Congress moved an adjournment motion for a resolution demanding that the state be kept united. The Speaker rejected all the adjournment motions and again adjourned the house for half-an-hour.

The draft Bill which arrived Thursday, was not passed to the Assembly by CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He has indicated that he wanted the draft to be translated into Telugu and Urdu to be distributed to the MLAs before a discussion can be taken up. TRS floor leader E Rajender accused the CM of delaying tabling of the Bill by giving lame excuses. The Business Advisory Committed is now likely to meet Monday to decide on a date to start a discussions.

At the secretariat,Telangana and Seemandhra employees came to blows while taking out rallies.
