A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped for three days at a bungalow in Hazaribagh town by four persons,including the son of a police officer. Two of the accused have been arrested and a search is on to nab the other two,police said on Friday.
The four men allegedly kidnapped the Class XI student on August 26 from near her house. They took her in a car to the bungalow on the Kanhari Hill road and allegedly gangraped her for three days,SP Manoj Kaushik told reporters.
Two of the accused,Sonu Kumar and Ritesh Kumar,were arrested on Thursday while the main accused,Dhanu Kumar,and Anurag Basu were absconding,he said.
Dhanu Kumar is the son of Deputy SP (CID) Ajay Ram while Ritesh Kumar is the son of constable Umesh Sharma,who is posted with the Indian Reserve Battalion, the SP said.
He said Dhanu was on bail after being in jail in connection with five cases,including alleged looting of an ATM.
The SP said that the bungalow where the alleged incident took place belonged to a former Trinamool Congress MP. He said the police were probing the possible role of the care-taker of the bungalow,who is missing. The father of the victim lodged a missing person report on August 27. His daughter returned home the next night. He lodged an FIR on Thursday after the girl narrated her ordeal.
A team of doctors was constituted for medical examination of the girl,the police said.
