Lahore: The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has demanded release of some of its key leaders for freeing ex-PM Yousaf Reza Gilanis son,who was abducted five months ago. Ali Haider Gilani was kidnapped by militants in Multan district on May 9,two days ahead of the general election. Gilani told reporters here Wednesday he had received a voice message from his son that outlined the conditions set by the Taliban for his release. He said he brought the matter to the knowledge of the government.
Pak man remanded in custody for stripping Hindu woman
Islamabad: A Pakistani man has been remanded in police custody in Sindh province for allegedly assaulting and stripping a Hindu woman,a media report said Thursday. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday night after a case was registered against him under Pakistan Penal Code for assaulting and using criminal force against the woman. Police at New Chhor town in Umerkot district Wednesday produced the man before a judicial magistrate,who remanded him in police custody for three days,Dawn reported.
