The Taj Airport Garden Hotel was re-branded as Airport Garden Gateway hotel on Wednesday,this is the first international Gateway hotel of the Taj Group.
This is the 21s operational hotel and the 39th in our portfolio. We plan to bring the number up to 50 by 2015, said PK Mohankumar,chief operating officer,Gateway Hotel group. The Gateway brand,launched in 2008,offers upscale full service hotels. It is a pan-India network of hotels and resorts designed for the business traveller. The 25 year old Taj Airport Garden hotel,in Seeduwa in Colombo is a 38 acre property bordering the largest lagoon in Sri Lanka. With 113 rooms,the group hopes that the re branding of the hotel will help draw the urban nomad.
The customer experience in this hotel is divided into zones: Meet,work,workout,unwind and explore. There is a 24/7 approach to all services,active foods high on antioxidants and low glycemic index are added to the menu. The business traveller even finds a yoga mat in his room. The re-branding involved refurbishing of the rooms timber flooring,sleek furniture,LCD screens and a new all-day dining restaurant.
Rohit Khosla,area director,Sri Lanka and Maldives said,The prices have moved up from 45-50 per day hotel to 80 per day hotel. The hotel will move up beyond the 100 per room/day range soon.
