Shah Rukh Khan had a busy week before kicking off his birthday on November 2. He has been on the move since October 27 when he first returned to India,via London,to host Sahara Sports Awards in Mumbai on October 30,and then flew to Rome with his family to attend the 5th Rome Film Festival on October 31.
The actor walked the Red Carpet to a grand Bollywood-themed reception at the Festival for the screening of his film My Name Is Khan,which released with 100 prints.
The only bad news Shah Rukh received in the last week was Karan Johar’s absence as he is suffering from malaria,Khan tweeted.
Meanwhile in Rome,Shah Rukh did not have to go through the regular customs route and was instead granted a VIP exit. The film released in Italy with around 100 prints. My Name Is Khan will also create history when it releases in China on November 30 as it is the first Hindi film to release there in 20 years.
Preity awarded honourary degree
Preity Zinta finally has something to cheer about even as she prepares to go to court over the disqualification of her team Kings XI Punjab from next year’s Indian Premier League.
The University of East London has bestowed an honourary Doctorate of the Arts degree upon her for her contribution to cinema and humanitarian work at a special ceremony.
“I am extremely humbled and excited about the nomination as it makes me feel that my work has been worthy, Preity,who has been actively involved in several social causes,said.
The actress recently adopted 34 orphan girls from Rishikesh,besides being the brand ambassador of the Loomba Trust.
Early last week,Preity also revealed that she will pen an autobiography soon. It may not have all the juicy details about her 2003 Bharat Shah case and her break-up with Ness Wadia that readers would expect though,as Preity clarified that she’s not comfortable with sharing controversial details.
Sonam takes to launches and fashion
Sonam Kapoor has had quite a week. After attending the launch event of a magazine in a blue Burberry dress,the next day,Sonam was present at the book launch of Dog Send: The Story Of Simba in South Mumbai where she gushed about her own three dogs.
However,she was stuck in a traffic jam while returning back home as the President’s cavalcade was passing through at the same time. She also gave a fashion class at an Esprit outlet in Mumbai where she shared tips on boyfriend dressing,the travel must-haves this winter,tips on casual look for a relaxed brunch with friends and the hi-glam look for an evening out with that special someone.
Sonam,who has just recovered from typhoid,has also resumed filming for Mausam. She will next work on the remake of The Italian Job.
