Shinde says no plan to impose President’s rule

Group of Ministers will address issues such as education and employment in Hyderabad.

With violent protests spreading in Seemandhra,the Centre Tuesday ruled out the possibility of imposing President’s rule in the state. “There is no plan under consideration to impose President’s rule. There was no such discussion in today’s Cabinet,” Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said,adding that the deteriorating situation is a matter of grave concern. “I would like to assure people of Seemandhra that the government is fully committed to addressing their concerns,particularly with respect to safeguarding the interests of people living in Telangana,” he said.

He said the Group of Ministers will address issues such as education and employment in Hyderabad,sharing of river water and the future of government employees.
