After the arrest of Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju and his brother Rama Raju, the focus of the investigation has now shifted to the third Raju brother, the elusive B Suryanarayana Raju. Suryanarayana is alleged to have opened dozens of front companies that received money siphoned from Satyam with which he bought thousands of acres in Andhra Pradesh,Maharashtra and Karnataka. He appears to have fled almost a week before Ramalinga Raju confessed to the Satyam fraud. Suryanarayana is also suspected to have opened two investment firms in Mauritius where money was transferred through hawala. This was later routed back to the benami companies owned by the family. CID officials say some of this money could be traced to Maytas Infra and Maytas Properties. The CID has sought permission from the state government to visit Mauritius to investigate the two firms.
