After nine months,the Jamp;K police lifted restrictions around the house of hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
He had been under house arrest since March this year.
The news of Geelanis release was conveyed to us late Monday evening by a DSP, Hurriyat Conference G spokesman,Ayaz Akbar,said.
Akbar said the police officer who conveyed the news did not explain the reasons behind Geelanis release.
Around 30 policemen had been stationed around Geelanis house at Hyderpora locality on the citys outskirts.
A temporary settlement of police outside Geelanis Hyderpora residence was shifted at Monday night that existed there since July 2010, he said.
Speaking about the partys future programme Akbar said,Geelani will resume his political activities from November 1 when he will address a public gathering in his hometown Sopore and will later visit Afzal Gurus house, he said.
