Investigations into the murder of Rehana 42,the wife of BSP MLA Haji Aleem Choudhary,have revealed that the last three calls from her phone were to her sister,a shopkeeper and her husband.
Aleem joined investigations at the Welcome police station on Friday.
Sources said after murdering Rehana,the assailants took out the SIM card of her mobile phone and threw it in the drawing room of her ground floor flat in New Jafrabad.
Investigators recovered the SIM card and an analysis of the call detail records revealed that on the day of the incident,Rehana called her cousin sister Meenu,a resident of Khajuri Khas,at 7.30 pm.
Later,she called a local shopkeeper for a phone recharge. Around 9 pm,she spoke to Aleem,who was in Jeddah for Haj pilgrimage.
On Thursday,police questioned Meenu,who told investigators that she had gone to meet her aunt,Rachna at her residence in Rajgarh colony in Krishna Nagar for lunch.
However,she got a phone call and left to meet a religious group that had arrived from Kuwait.
Police also questioned the shopkeeper,but could not obtain anything substantial from his questioning.
Police on Friday questioned Aleem on the property dispute between him and Rehana.
The dispute has been going on for the past four months after Aleem told her he wanted to sell the flat he bought for her in New Jafrabad.
He wanted Rehana to move with him to Bulandhshahr. Rehana wanted to sell that flat and purchase a new one in East Delhis Laxmi Nagar.
