It was difficult to miss the statue of a pot-bellied man wearing a hat,with a cigar in his mouth,at Gate 6 of Nirman Bhawan which houses the Union Health Ministry. With Citizen of Hell inscribed at its base,the statue was presented to former health minister Anbumani Ramadoss by a granite company from Tamil Nadu. Ramadoss had got the statue installed at the buildings entrance. But with Ramadoss out of the government,the statue too has disappeared. Ministry officials admit that although it was regarded as an eyesore,they could not remove it during Ramadosss term. Last heard,the Citizen of Hell has been sent to some medical college.
