Raid on engr unearths assets worth crores

Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the police on Saturday raided half a dozen premises of a government sub-engineer and unearthed assets worth crores allegedly belonging to him,officials said.

Santosh Arya,attached to Rural Engineering Department of the MP government,was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and detained for interrogation,SP of EOW Manoj Singh told PTI.

Arya has declared four houses,two flats,five shops,three luxury and five ordinary four wheelers and cash worth Rs 25 lakh during the raids which began Saturday morning,Singh said,adding that their value would be Rs 8 crore to 10 crore. Nine of his bank accounts were also seized,the SP said.
