* Pseudophedrine was sourced from a pharmaceutical factory in Meerut, being run by a retired DSP of Uttar Pradesh Police,Kirpal Singh (also under arrest),and his son Anuj (who is absconding).

* Heroin was brought in from Afghanistan and Pakistan, allegedly by Jagdish Bhola (absconding),and then smuggled abroad along with ice and pseudophedrine. Consignments were sent both via air cargo from Delhi and by ship from Mumbai, which was allegedly organised by Kulwant Singh and Paramjit Singh (both arrested).

* In the UK,consignments were received by Latif,a man of Pakistani origin settled in the UK,who is allegedly an associate of Kulwant. In Canada,Kulwant’s alleged accomplice was his father-in-law,Nirankar Singh Dhillon, while in Holland, two Punjab-origin men “Sam” and “Garry” received the drugs. Sam and Garry are reportedly associates of Manpreet,a Canadian national who was arrested earlier.

Fifteen persons including two Canadians and one UK citizen have been arrested so far in this case, whereas more than 25 persons are absconding.

For the “good work” done in this case, six constables were Sunday given the rank of head constable, eight head constables were made assistant sub-inspectors,three ASIs were promoted to sub-inspectors,while two SIs are now inspectors.

Sunday’s seizures were made from Satinder Singh,a resident of Panchkula, with 3 kg ice and 75 kg of pseudophedrine being recovered from an Innova vehicle belonging to Bhola; from the premises of Avtar Singh in Patiala (2 kg ice and 65 kg pseudophedrine hidden in a Scorpio belonging to his brother); and from Ravicharn Singh of Sangrur (5 kg ice and 90 kg pseudophedrine). All three are absconding.
