Prisoner kills inmate,hurts one in Nashik

A prisoner,an accused in a murder case,was killed by another inmate over a minor quarrel at the central jail here early Wednesday,prison authorities said. Sopan Pagare,26,resident of Malegaon and currently an undertrial in a murder case,removed a wooden stick from the toilet and attacked Vishal Balasaheb Choudhari,28,and Vijay Ippar,22,around 1am over a petty quarrel they had before they went to sleep,Jail Superintendent S Y Karnik said.

Both prisoners sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Nashik civil hospital where Vishal succumbed to his injuries Wednesday morning,and Vijay is still undergoing treatment,police said.
