Utsav Lal,a trained pianist in varied genres of music such as Western Classical,Indian Classical and Jazz,will present a piano recital on Indian music on September 9 at Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA). At a very young age,Utsav has a career that boasts of performances,collaborations and musical projects spanning the globe,backed by accolades and scholarships from prestigious institutions. He has an interesting style that blends raags with film compositions on the piano. He received early training in piano under John Raphael and Brian Silas followed by Vinod Shakiya and Jaideep Lakhtakia,who trained him in Indian music. He is currently under the tutelage of Dhrupad exponent,Wasifuddin Dagar and noted violinist Sharat Chandra Srivastava.
