The CBI on Wednesday filed the second chargesheet in the NRHM scam against former Uttar Pradesh Director General of Family Welfare S P Ram and three others for flouting tender rules in supply of medical kits.
Sources said charges against former UP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha,arrested in connection with the case last month,and former principal secretary Pradeep Shukla,will be brought soon in the next chargesheet.
Others named in the second chargesheet are former Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation MD Abhay Kumar Bajpai,area manager Sanjeev Kumar and owner of a private firm Saurabh Jain. The chargesheet was filed before a designated CBI court in Ghaziabad.
The chargesheet alleged that the contract was awarded in pre-decided manner in procurement of medical equipment amounting to Rs 4.42 crore to two Moradabad-based firms by then Director General (Family Welfare) through UPSIC thereby causing a loss of Rs 1.5 crore to the state exchequer.
