A month after being sworn in as minister,Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya is still awaiting allotment of office space in the secretariat.

Having served as the minister for food and civil supplies and prisons,Raja Bhaiyya,an independent legislator from Kunda, was stripped of the prisons portfolio.

He had to later resign from the other after his name figured as one of the conspirators behind the killing of DSP Ziaul Haque in March this year. The CBI,however, gave a clean chit to him in the case.

Shortly after that,on October 11,Raja Bhaiyya was reinducted in the state government but remains unassigned to any particular office space.

During his previous stint, the minister was allocated room number 65 in the main building of the secretariat, which was allocated to Rajendra Choudhary following the former’s removal from the cabinet. Attempting to downplay the situation, the minister said “it is not a big issue”.

“Even though I have not been allocated office space in the secretariat,I am running my office from my residence — 7,Kalidas Marg. The official work is not suffering,” he said.

The minister also denied he had put forward any request so far to be allotted the same room. “I have no fascination for any particular room. I never demanded ministerial position; how can I raise the demand for a particular room?” he questioned.
