A day after expressing his angst at the slow pace of decision-making in the state government regarding key infrastructure projects,South Mumbai MP Milind Deora on Thursday rubbished suggestions that his apparent chiding of the Prithviraj Chavan-led government was part of a political wrangling underway in the party.

“I speak as a Mumbaikar, not a minister,” he said. “I am not one to use Twitter for political posturing. I am not a guy who plays pressure politics. And I am not in the fray for any party posts. I just tweeted about four projects that are delayed… It was not a personal thing against any leader. I think the chief minister will understand that too.

While Chavan chose not to respond to Deora’s tweets,Maharashtra Congress chief Manikrao Thakre said: “I am sure he has the best interests of the city in mind. I will speak to him to understand his anger or frustration.”

Thakre denied suggestions that Deora’s comments were a result of party politics.
