No more random checking of industrial units in UP

The Uttar Pradesh Government on Tuesday claimed to have ended the inspector raj in the Industries Department,saying there would be no more checking of industrial units by its officials.
The department officials will go for checking only when it is inevitable,but that too on the the orders of the District Magistrate. There will be no more harassment of industrial units in the name of checking, explained a senior officer of the Industries Development Department.
He,however,clarified that the routine checking by other departments concerned like power,pollution control and labour will go on as usual.
Ever since the general elections results were announced the UP Government has been busy reviving and re-issuing old schemes and orders for the promotion of industrial investments.

Last week,the Government had revived its service of providing officials to escort investors till their units were set up.
