Nitish cancels rally plans over violence

Largescale violence and arson in Madhubani,Bihar,forced Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday to cancel his address at two Adhikar rallies in Buxar and Bhojpur districts. Officials said he is personally supervising and monitoring the situation in the region where three persons were injured in police firing at Jainagar on Saturday.

The rallies,however,will take place at the scheduled time and will be addressed by ministers and ruling JDU leaders,an official spokesperson said. Nitish had cut short his Adhikar rally at Kaimur on Saturday and rushed back to Patna to take stock of the law and order situation in Madhubani.
