Nirvana Biosys,Natures Bounty enter JV

With support and reach of Natures Bounty,Luca wines will become leading wine company in India.

Wine maker Nirvana Biosys has entered into a tie up with Amit Burman-owned Natures Bounty Wines for marketing its wines under the brand of ‘Luca’ in domestic and global market.

With this strategic alliance,Nirvana Biosys will have wider access of Natures Bouty’s marketing and sales network while Natures Bounty,which is till now into high end wines,will have a complete range of products to cater to each segment of the industry.

“With the support and reach of Natures Bounty,Luca wines will become a leading wine company in India. This strategic alliance between the two companies will help the industry at large in terms of better product and high end services,” said M K Rustagi,Joint Managing Director,Nirvana Biosys.

Nirvana Biosys was set up in joint venture with E C Oxenham,Mauritius and is located at Bawal,Haryana at an investment of Rs 30 crore. The company is known for making wines from fruits like lychee and mango for the first time in the country.

Natures Bounty Wines is a company owned by Amit Burman,Vice Chairman of Dabur India Ltd. It owns Lite Bite Foods,a chain of restaurants which will make Luca available at these outlets.

With its increasing acceptance,the total market of wines in the country is growing at healthy pace of 25-30 per cent. Its total size is pegged at 1.5 million cases.

“Innovation is a passion at Luca Wines. Luca has innovated few unique wines for the first time like Lychee wine,Mango wine and soon we are launching herbal wine and edible rose wine,” Rustagi said.

“We are aiming to produce 50,000-60,000 cases of wine this fiscal on the back of growing demand against 25,000 cases produced last fiscal,” he said.

Apart from this,Nirvana Biosys has also firmed up plans to export its wines in UK Singapore,Malaysia,Germany and Canada.

“Last year we exported our wines to Japan,Hong Kong and Dubai and we will look at new export markets this fiscal,” he said. Export constitutes 10 per cent of its total sales. Luca wines are already present in over 1,000 outlets in 11 states.
