Narendra Modi desperate to become PM,says JD(U)

Shivanand Tiwari says Gujarat CM has already assumed he is the prime ministerial candidate of BJP.

On a day Narendra Modi addressed industrialists in Kolkata, the Janata Dal (United) said that the Gujarat Chief Minister was desperate to become the prime minister.

Rajya Sabha member and party spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari told the media at the party headquarters on Tuesday,“Modi is desperate (to become PM)… Though the BJP maintains that a decision will be taken by the parliamentary board of the party,he has already assumed that he is the prime ministerial candidate of the party… Modi is talking like the next PM…He is talking about his manifesto.”

He said Modi was showcasing the Gujarat model for development. “But we feel the Bihar model is the best because it is inclusive and strives to bring the poorest of the poor at par with the rest.” Bihar, according to Tiwari, has recorded a better growth rate than Gujarat.

Tiwari said that Modi was addressing gatherings of industrialists, but “we haven’t heard him talk of farmers’ suicides even once; there is no mention of malnutrition of children in his speeches”.
