We hate to hear this singer cry. Unfortunately, that’s all that Enrique Iglesias seems to be doing on his latest, rather ironically named album,Euphoria. The singer’s delivery, unfortunately, has not progressed from the days of Love to See You Cry and Hero. To be fair, though,he seems to have made an effort to keep up with the times. The opening track I Like It,featuring Pitbull,is heavy on hip-hop and plays on Iglesias’ vocals with some serious distortion. It’s a fun track, but it simply can’t beat his breakout hit Bailamos. His collaboration with Nicole Scherzinger,Heartbeat,is another good track – not quite a ballad like Hero, but catchy enough to stay in your head. The Spanish number,No Me Digas Que No,where Iglesias goes back to his Latino roots,is undoubtedly the best track.

Overall, though,it seems like Iglesias has lost the plot, stuck between doing what he’s good at – Latin Pop – and trying to stay contemporary. He’s made an effort to upgrade the sound but he is still stuck with lyrics about all-consuming,obsessive love. These did make him a hit with teenage girls, but with the competition getting younger and his old fans having grown up,it’s about time Iglesias found something new to wail about.
