Trailors of JD Majethia’s Khichdi have just hit the theatres, and according to the producer, have been eliciting a great response. They also been getting enquires from overseas. JD has applied to the Limca Book of Records for being the first in India to make a film based on a popular serial. Plans are afoot to make a sequel to it if the film, which releases on October 1,does well. “One cannot predict how the audience will receive the film but I am confident that we’ve made a good film,” says JD,who in the forthcoming promos plans to release more content. “Unlike other films that release limited content in their trailers,I will be giving out more content because the film is full of it,” he informs. The prints too are said to be gearing toward 500 instead of the earlier 200 that they had planned. There is talk of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai also being made into a film. Agrees JD,“Khichdi is just the beginning.” It,however, doesn’t mean that we we’ll be making films based on serials only. We have many other scripts too.
