Actor Mohanlal bags the Thikkurissi Puraskaaram. Instituted and given by the Thikkurissi Foundation,it was founded in memory of the late actor Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair,one of the most popular stars of yesteryears.
Mohanlal has been selected for the award for his overall contribution to Indian Cinema as a multi-faceted,nationally-acclaimed actor,who is also one of the superstars of Malayalam cinema,will be given the award in a function to be held in Thiruvananthapuram in December.
Mohanlals latest release Shikkar is doing great at the box- office and his next major release would be Khandahar,directed by Major Ravi,in which he shares screen space with none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
Jayasurya begins work for Leos Payyans
Jayasurya has started shooting for his next movie Payyans,directed by Leo Thadeus,at Alappuzha. This is Leos second feature film after Pachamarathanalil. Payyans,which has Lal and Rohini in key roles,tells the story of a young man,an engineering college drop-out who runs many businesses that turn out to be flops. But his mother Padma remains his biggest support. Life changes for him when he starts living with his father. Lal and Rohini play the parents while the cast also includes Shankar,Suraaj Venjaramoodu,Guinness Pakru,Kalasala Babu and Manka Mahesh.
Leo Thadeus himself has penned the films script. The project is produced by Naushad Kammu. The second chedule of the film will be shot in Fort Kochi.
Fans waiting for Nayantharas Super
Ardent fans of Nayanthara are disappointed with the news that she is likely to stop acting after marriage and that the recently released Boss Engira Bhaskaran could be her last film in Tamil.
Her fans in Karnataka are awaiting the release of her Super in which she is paired opposite Upendra. The film is likely to release soon. Produced by Rockline Venkatesh and directed by Upendra himself,Super is touted to be a complete entertainer.
Nayanthara also has a Malayalam film Elektra coming up. It is directed by Shyamaprasad,in which she plays the title-role and shares the screen space with Manisha Koirala and Prakash Raj.
