Hardline Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani set the tone for his grand rally in Srinagar on December 8 with a massive rally in south Kashmir in which he took on BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and reiterated his call for a poll boycott.
Addressing tens of thousands of people in Kulgam, the separatist leader called Modis candidature as a blot on Indian democracy and so-called secularism and called Modi a killer of humanity.
Modi is the killer of humanity. He is the main culprit responsible for the massacre of Muslims and rape of women in Gujarat, Geelani said. He wants to spread communal tensions in the state. His visit to Jammu and Kashmir is a threat to its peace and stability.
In south Kashmir,a PDP stronghold,Geelani reiterated his election boycott call. Jamat-e-Islami Geelanis patent organization had supported PDP in the 2008 assembly elections. Some pro-India parties try to justify participation in elections in the name of lesser evil, he said.
