Cambridge: Malala Yousufzai,the girl who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban,was honoured Friday as Harvard University’s humanitarian of the year. She was at Harvard on Friday to accept the 2013 Peter J Gomes Humanitarian Award.

PIO dies after being hit by train in UK

London: An Indian-origin medical student at King’s College here died when she was hit by a train soon after a row with a fellow student. Anita Trivedi’s family fears she may have killed herself as a result of bullying at college. The British Transport Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious. An inquest into the case was opened on Wednesday and adjourned.

Cameron aide held over rape claim

London: A top member of PM David Cameron’s Conservative party has been arrested on suspicion of raping a teenage girl,British police said Saturday. Party vice-chairman Alan Lewis was arrested after a woman claimed he raped her in the 1960s in Manchester,police said.
