Lawyer kills self,blames Mayawati’s minister

VK Yadav blamed Anant Mishra for his death,alleging large-scale extortion by the BSP minister.

Advocate Vinay Kumar Yadav,35,who committed suicide at his Kamla Tower residence in Kanpur Wednesday evening,has held UP Health Minister Anant Mishra and Farrukhabad district administration responsible for his death.

In the suicide note recovered by the police,Yadav has mentioned large-scale extortion by Mishra and district administration at Farrukhabad.

“Though the name of Anant Mishra is mentioned in the suicide note,any link between the suicide and the minister is yet to be established,” Kanpur DIG Ashok Mutha Jain said.

Yadav’s daughter said her mother,Uma,a school teacher at Farrukhabad,was suspended four months ago. “My father was worried that the officials were unwilling to reinstate my mother,” she said,adding he was disturbed for the past few weeks. “On Wednesday evening,he went inside his room and when he did not come out for hours,we went inside and were shocked to find him hanging from the fan,” she said.

DIG Jain said the reason behind the suspension of Yadav’s wife is yet to be confirmed.

The DIG claimed that prima facie it appeared a case of suicide,but the cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is available on Thursday.
