The Lakhisarai police,which busted an illegal fund transaction racket with alleged ISI links,suspect that two Muslim youth from the district had been asked to recruit Hindu and Muslim youth for carrying out illegal transaction of funds from Pakistan to several bank accounts. Police suspect that illegal transactions were also made to some terror suspects.
As the Lakhisarai police team detained a Hindu youth from Jharia town of Jharkhand Monday,top police officers of Munger Range of the Bihar police questioned officials of two private banks in connection with illegal transactions,mainly through withdrawal from ATMs and later by depositing money in these banks.
Dhanbad SP Anoop T Mathew told The Indian Express: A team from Lakhisarai camping in Dhanbad is interrogating a Jharia resident over some suspicious hawala transaction. No arrest has been made yet as we are trying to verify details of some bank accounts being operated from Dhanbad. The Bihar police said the Lakhisarai accused had said illegal transactions were being made to bank accounts in Jharkhand,West Bengal,Karnataka and Assam.
The Lakhisarai Police seized 20 ATMs and 35 passbooks from possessing of four Lakhisarai youth Gopal Prasad Goyal,Ganesh Prasad,Vikas Kumar and Pawan Kumar Gupta.
