An email from Kingfisher Airlines’ management seeking individual views from employees on its salary payment offer has divided the striking employees. A small section of its staff based in Mumbai have decided to accept the proposal but staff in Delhi,Bangalore and Chennai centres have unanimously decided to not accept the offer.

The airline,in a meeting with the employees in Mumbai on Monday, had offered to pay March salary on or before October 25,April salary on or before October 31 and the May salary before Diwali.

“A section of engineers, pilots of the ATR aircraft and employees from the commercial department have agreed to accept the management’s salary payment offer,” said an employee representative.

Another employee representative added that apart from Mumbai, all other employees from Delhi,Bangalore and Chennai centres have unanimously decided to not accept this offer.

“All of us have replied to the mail from the airline management, informing them that we will only come back if our four months’ salary is paid in three working days,” he added.

Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines’ flying licence was suspended by the DGCA last Saturday, after the aviation regulator was not satisfied with the airline’s reply to the show-cause notice.

The airline can only restart operations if it gives a convincing operational plan to the DGCA.
