The Orissa police Saturday confirmed the murder of a woman judicial officer in Balasore district.
The body of Anupama Behera,32,a Court Process Officer in Balasore,was found at her official residence where she lived alone Friday. The body had several injuries and a pillow was placed on the face,indicating she was murdered,the police said.
A police official said prima facie Behera appeared to have died due to smothering. In all likelihood,she was killed on March 14 night,the official said. A team and a sniffer dog have been engaged to investigate the death. The body has been sent for autopsy. But we are yet to ascertain the motive, the officer said.
Behera was staying alone as her husband is a doctor posted at Kanasa and her son lives in Bhubaneswar with her parents. Police have detained two persons in connection with the case.
