The 47-year-old actor,who also has an eight-year-old son Jack with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis,can’t believe how mature his daughter is for her age and claims she is already showing she shares her mother’s talent for music.

“She is almost 12 and she’s incredibly mature for her age,almost frighteningly smart. She writes little poems and I can picture her starting to write her own songs soon. She has the voice of her mother,” added the star.

Cary Grant ‘enjoyed being called gay’

Hollywood icon Cary Grant enjoyed being called gay,says a new memoir penned by his only daughter.

Jennifer,now 45,has admitted that her famous father was always intrigued by the gay rumours and may have even played up the reports on purpose.

“Can’t blame men for wanting him,and wouldn’t be surprised if Dad even mildly flirted back. When the question arises,it generally speaks more about the person asking,” she writes in Good Stuff: A Reminiscence of My Father,Cary Grant.

“(But) Dad somewhat enjoyed being called gay. He said it made women want to prove the assertion wrong,” she added.

Jennifer insisted that she was a living testament to her dad’s legendary charm.

“OK,I had a crush on Dad. OK,more than a little crush on Dad. My other real crushes were (singer) Donny Osmond and (French actor) Jean-Paul Belmondo,” she added.

The memoir,which also includes rare photos and personal mementos of their time together before his death in 1986 at the age of 82,is due for release in the US next week.

Lindsay to plead no contest in necklace theft case

Lindsay Lohan has decided to put an end to the court room drama surrounding her by pleading “no contest” in the necklace theft case,according to reports.

The 24-year-old actress and her lawyer will tell Judge Stephanie Sautner of the decision as early as next week,reported celebrity website TMZ.

Lohan has already been sentenced to 120 days jail and 480 hours community service after Sautner ruled she had violated the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DIU case.

Now the Mean Girls star is hoping to put an end to the jewellery theft case by entering a no contest plea.

In US law,no contest means the defendant is still claiming no guilt,but no longer contesting the charges brought.

Lohan and her attorney Shawn Holley are said to be hopeful that Sautner will not add extra jail time based on the new plea.

Lohan had initially pleaded not guilty to the alleged theft of the USDF 2,500 necklace from a high-end jewellery store in Venice,California,in January.

LA County Sheriff’s spokesperson Steve Whitmore said that Lohan would probably end up serving three weeks of her four month jail term due to overcrowding. Her trial is set for June.

Jersey Shore star Sorrentino eyes own series

Mike Sorrentino,the Jersey Shore star known as The Situation,has become the latest cast member from MTV’s hit reality show to sign a spinoff deal with the cable channel. Sorrentino is not attached to a specific project at the moment,but a pilot will be filmed later this year for a possible series pickup.

MTV recently greenlit two untitled Jersey Shore spinoff series: one features Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley,while the second is led by Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio. Both shows,expected to bow some time in 2012,center on the trio’s lives away from the mothership show.
