The Jnaneswari Train derailment and the subsequent blame game on news channels seems to have assumed a different dimension.
It is learnt that the police interrogated mediapersons in the studio of a newly launched Bengali news channel,Ekhon Somoy, owned by artist Suvaprasanna sometime last week. This happened after filmmaker Anindita Sarbadhikari lodged a complaint against the channel stating that its programme on Jnaneswari attack could incite law and order problems.
Suvaprasanna is known to be close to Mamata Banerjee. The programme in question was a panel discussion on the day of the train attack,in which one of the speakers,Purnendu Bose of the TMC,alleged that the sabotage was triggered by CPM-men.
