The Lokayukta Police have given a clean chit to Madhya Pradesh Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in an illegal deal involving land worth Rs 100 crore in Indore but a court will decide the politician’s fate on July 10.

He was accused of selling a three-acre plot to a housing society, headed by his confidenat Ramesh Mendola,in violation of rules. Vijayvargiya was mayor of Indore when the land deal was inked in 2003-04.

The police argued that the complainant,Congress’ Suresh Seth, did not produce new evidence and that he filed the application only because he wanted to target the minister.
