As Rajsthan BJP chief Vasundhara Raje embarks on her ‘Suraaj Sankalp Yatra’ Thursday, she will reach out not only to rural masses but also the net-savvy youth through social networking,a ‘Vasundhara app’ and a swanky air-conditioned ‘rath’.

The former chief minister has likened the yatra to her 2003 ‘Parivartan Yatra’ after which the BJP registered a sweeping victory in the polls.

The Suraaj Sankalp Yatra, which will begin from Charbhuja Temple in Rajsamand will be flagged off by party chief Rajnath Singh. The yatra, slated to go on till July 21,will cover 200 places and include 35 public meetings.

“We are going out with a promise of better governance and development. Suraaj Sankalp is the promise of giving people a developed state if we come back to power. This yatra will be to get a feedback from the people,to understand what issues plague them and to know how the common man rates the present government. The Congress government claims to have four successful years in office,so we are going out to ask people how true is that?” Vasundhara Raje told The Indian Express.

Apart from a cavalcade of party workers,Raje’s yatra will comprise two specially designed air-conditioned buses. Sources said the ‘raths’ are better-equipped than those of L K Advani or Narendra Modi. A ‘Vasundhara App’ has been designed for android phones and iPad to keep partymen as well as the common man updated about her yatra. Raje may also use Twitter.
