Hyundai total sales up 14 in June

Hyundai Motor India reported a 13.6 increase in its total sales in June at 52,531 units.

Hyundai Motor India today reported a 13.6 per cent increase in its total sales in June at 52,531 units.

The company had sold 46,253 units in the year-ago period,Hyundai Motor India Ltd HMIL said in a statement.

In the domestic market,the company’s sales increased 11.1 per cent to 30,402 units from 27,366 units in same month last year,it added.

Exports of the company were up 17.2 per cent to 22,129 units in June from 18,887 units in the year-ago period,the statement said.

Commenting on June,2011 sales,HMIL Director Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena said: “The market continued to be slow but Hyundai sales have grown partially due to the success of New Verna. We have received over 21,000 customer bookings for the New Verna so far and we are trying to fulfill the demand”.

In its A2 segment Santro,i10 and i20,the company sold 45,260 units,while in the A3 segment Accent and Verna sales were at 7,147 units.

The A5 segment Sonata Transform of HMIL witnessed sales of 24 units,while that of its new SUV Santa Fe stood at 100 units during the month.
