The moderate Hurriyat Conference has rejected the interlocutors report, terming it as an effort to fragment opinion in the state. Leaders of the mainstream parties, however, have said that they would study the report before commenting on it.
While rejecting the contents of the report, the Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, termed it a farce. This report has tried to divide people by claiming that there is no single opinion in Kashmir, but so many opinions. We reject it, the Mirwaiz said, adding that the entire exercise of interlocution was a part of the Government of Indias move to buy time.
We feel that the Kashmir issue is not about recommendations but of political will, and that political will is not visible anywhere in the Indian establishment, the Mirwaiz said.
Hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani,on the other hand, said that he would react on the report on Friday.

In its statement issued at the partys national meet in Mumbai, the BJP said the report is a verbose document written in denial about certain basic realities.
