A parliamentary panel has decided to examine the Comptroller and Auditor General’s report on issues related to the privatisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports.

The Committee on Public Undertakings, chaired by BJP leader VK Malhotra, said today that it has decided to examine the CAG report on the implementation of the Operations,Management and Development Agreement signed between the GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and the state-owned Airports Authority of India. The committee has also decided to examine another audit para from the same CAG report on unauthorised withdrawal from an Escrow account by the MIAL. The report had stated that the private developer had “violated” government orders regarding expenditure, causing a loss of Rs 15 crore.
