The Madhya Pradesh High Court has transferred the Sunil Joshi murder case from a court in Dewas to a special court in Bhopal but the counsel of main accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh said the order will be challenged.
Joshi, whom the National Investigation Agency (NIA) describes as the prime mover/conspirator behind a series of terror blasts in 2007,was shot dead in Dewas on December 29,2007.
The NIA took over the investigation on June 25,2011 after the MP Police filed a chargesheet against five persons, including Pragya Singh,on February 27,2011. The charges against the accused were yet to be framed in the Dewas court when the NIA moved an application seeking transfer of the case to a special court in Bhopal.
All the accused had challenged the transfer application. After several hearings the Dewas court was set to pronounce its verdict
on Tuesday when the NIA submitted a copy of an order from the High Court Registrar,Jabalpur, that said the case had been transferred to Bhopal.
